Meet Alain Croibier, DO, MRO(F)
Alain Croibier, DO, MRO(F), is a French osteopath with more than three decades of clinical, teaching, and scholarly experience in osteopathy and manual therapy. He has been in private practice in France since 1990 and is a long-standing Member of the Registre des Ostéopathes de France. He has also been a Membre Titulaire of the Académie d'Ostéopathie de France since 1997, reflecting his significant contributions to the profession.
Working in close collaboration with Jean-Pierre Barral, Alain Croibier has played a central role in the development of several advanced manual therapy approaches grounded in ongoing clinical research. Together, they developed Neural Manipulation, Visceral Vascular Manipulation, and the New Manual Articular Approach, expanding the scope and clinical application of osteopathic and manual therapy worldwide. He is a member of the Barral Institute Executive Leadership, alongside Jean-Pierre Barral, and Gail Wetzler. He is also a member of the Barral Institute Academic Leadership, alongside Jean-Pierre Barral, Mark Bloemberg and Christoph Sommer, and holds the title of Co-Curriculum Developer for the Barral Institute.
Alain Croibier is a Professor of Visceral Manipulation and Osteopathic Diagnosis at the Osteopathic College, A.T. Still Academy in Lyon, France. He is also an International Instructor for the Barral Institute, teaching Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation, and the New Manual Articular Approach to healthcare professionals around the world.
His teaching career spans several decades and numerous international institutions. Since 1995, he has served as a Lecturer in Visceral Manipulation at the Collège International d'Ostéopathie (CIDO) in Saint-Étienne, France. Since 1991, he has been a guest lecturer at institutions including the Centre Ostéopathique du Québec in Montreal, the Nederlandse Academie voor Osteopathie (NAO) in the Netherlands, and the Still Academy Deutschland in Münster, Germany. He has also previously lectured in biomechanics, visceral anatomy, and osteopathic applications at the École Suisse d'Ostéopathie in Lausanne, Switzerland, and taught human anatomy, biomechanics, and Visceral Manipulation at the Institut Supérieur d'Ostéopathie in Lyon, France.
In addition to his teaching and clinical work, Alain Croibier is a respected author and co-author of numerous textbooks and peer-reviewed articles that contribute to the theoretical and practical foundations of osteopathy and manual therapy.
