Privacy Policy

A customer's right to privacy is of paramount importance to us. When you register on our site and/or purchase goods or services from us, we may ask you to provide your name, organization, e-mail address, and other information. We use that information to provide you with a more personalized online experience, to process orders, and to keep track of topics that are of interest to our readers and customers. This information will not be shared with any nonaffiliated parties.

If you register to receive newsletters and alerts from us, you may be asked to provide your e-mail address. Other information may also be necessary, depending on the type of information requested. This information is used solely to enable us to provide the requested information to you.

We are required under data protection law to protect your personal information from misuse and ensure that we are only holding the information that you give us consent to hold. Our desire is to serve you better and ensure that the information we have is accurate, and that no unnecessary information is being stored. Why do we need to collect personal information?

You have the right to know what of your personal information we retain. This information is kept in electronic form on our database, and is accessible by our staff and occasionally by software developers who help maintain our systems. Our customer database is accessed through a third-party software program and uses multi factor authentication for access.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Your information is available to you by registering for an account on our website, or by contacting us and requesting it. We ask you for this information to register you for courses we offer, to verify your qualifications in order to attend or staff our courses, to contact you about trainings or products being offered, to record product purchase information, and to record historical information of courses you have completed. We also request your information to publish business contact information on our international therapist directory, www.iahp.com, so that the public may find your listing and contact you directly for a therapy appointment. Your contact information may also be provided to sponsors or faculty of our courses for purposes of course management. We may be asked by our faculty or our international affiliate offices to verify the courses you have completed. Our international affiliate offices also comply with GPDR standards.

We use Constant Contact for our email marketing and text message communications. We use Merchant eSolutions, Inc. as our payment processor. Merchant eSolutions Inc uses and processes your payment information in accordance with its privacy policy available at https://www.merchante.com/privacy-policy.

Email and Text Message Communications

What information do we collect?

We record and use the following categories of personal data--name, professional title/s, professional license information, address/es, telephone number/s, email address/es, transactional data that you have provided to us, application/s for certification and all corresponding documents, evaluation summary from any courses you staffed, case presentations, disclosure forms, exams, certificates validating prior training that you have provided--and these are kept in a paper filing system.

All data we collect is stored in a secure place or on our computer systems that are password protected (along with other levels of electronic security). We want to assure you that we are very interested in maintaining strict confidentiality of your information and that no personal information will be given to unaffiliated parties, except as stated in this policy, unless we are legally required to do so.

Retaining Your Personal Data

We will retain your data unless and until you ask us to delete this information. Limited data will be maintained indefinitely for accounting purposes, and if you attend or staff classes with us to keep a record of your achievements.

Withdrawal of consent

At any time and with reasonable notice, you have the right to withdraw consent for us to use, disclose, or collect further information about you. If the withdrawal of consent would frustrate the performance of any legal obligations, your consent may not be withdrawn. Withdrawing consent may also affect our ability to provide you with information regarding products and services that we offer. It may also affect the way that we are able to do business with you.

Minors

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18), and we request that they not provide Personal Data to us.

Right of Access

You may request a copy of your data at any time. Please make such a request in writing or by email. Please provide your contact information and details of the information you require.

You have a right to access your personal information, subject to legal restrictions. You also have a right to know which unaffiliated parties, if any, to which we have disclosed your contact information. A written, signed request must be received by us in order to release this information.

We may charge a reasonable fee for you to access your personal information after informing you of the cost.

Your request for information may be denied for example if: the disclosure would reveal information about another individual, the information pertains to a legal proceeding or investigation, and/or granting access could reveal confidential commercial information.

If you believe any of the personal data we hold on you is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact us and we will amend our records. If you wish us to stop storing or using your data, please contact the office (details below).

Data Breaches

In the unlikely event that we are made aware of a data breach, where your personal data that we control may be lost, stolen, or otherwise breached, where this constitutes a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you without delay. We will give you the contact details of the Data Protection Officer who is dealing with the breach, and explain to you the nature of the breach and the steps we are taking to deal with it.

How We Obtained Your Data

Your personal data has been collected directly from you, from our international affiliate offices, or from professional list services.

Special Program Applicants

For those participating in special programs, such as a Certification Program, Advanced Level classes requiring applications, and/or those participating in a therapy program, you may be asked to share personal information that would be necessary to the program leaders and/or administrators of those programs. Please contact us if you have any questions about the application process and data use.
